Blogger Happy Hours aren’t just for DC’ians! This go around we had 2 guest appearances – all the way from Los Angeles down to Atlanta.
Starting off at the ever-popular Front Page, our little group shifted over to a quieter bar across the street awaiting our celebrity arrival – Len Penzo.
Hanging around were:
Save Every Way (formerly Eliminate the Muda) – Greg was traveling with family and hating every moment. Not because he hates his family, but since he travels for work – going to another destination is not his idea of a vacation. Greg is “out da game” so to speak. He sold Eliminate the Muda and is now focusing on Save Every Way. Still has his secret side project going on.
Len Penzo – Len brought the whole family! Father-in-law, son, daughter, & wife. Hearing the origin of his site was an awesome story. After countlessly being rejected from the LA Time editorials, he casually started his own site to be the soundboard that he was looking for. The remaining musketeers were: Greg, Len, J, & myself. We stayed for around 4 hours sharing various life & blog stories.
Money Relationship – Adam is like a thief in the night, always the first to leave the scene. It seems we’re only having brief conversations as he always seems the first to go. Always enjoyable since we talk about things beyond blogging. Actually, last event his wife came with him and we talked about school and marriage.
My Next Buck – Poor Brian looked absolutely zonked. If you have never met him then take the time to stop by and say hi, he’s great. If there was a Big Brother program for new bloggers, he’d be the chairman. Didn’t stay too long, had some personal obligations. Did introduce us to another, non-personal finance blogger (more below).
Sweating the Big Stuff – Daniel is living large with his new header, check out his site. Maybe next year’s Halloween costume could be a giant egg with sweatbands? Once the site becomes large, you’ll have to hire an Egg Suit for promotional events! Checked out the calculator idea Payscale stole from me on his new(ish) iPhone. ;)
Budgets Are Sexy – J Money… what do you say? He’s still got that ridiculous haircut, still has an unbeatable energy, and has ideas out the wazoo. Although we were across the table from each other, and in the same conversations, for the life of me I can’t recall something particular.
You’ll notice the attendees were all-male, until a DC fashion blogger – Closet Caucus – arrived courtesy of an invitation from Brian. Somewhat out of our personal finance realm, we chatted casually about the fashion market and exchanged a few ideas on gaining more market share.
